Gasland Horizon and NNPC Gas Marketing Limited form joint venture to supply piped natural gas to industry in Delta and Anambra States
Ibusa, Delta State, Nigeria · November 2025
Gasland Horizon Company Limited (RC 1123828) has entered into an unincorporated joint venture with NNPC Gas Marketing Limited (NGML), a subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, to develop gas distribution infrastructure and supply piped natural gas to industrial and commercial customers across Delta and Anambra States.
The partnership, known as the NGML-Gasland Horizon Delta and Anambra State Gas Distribution Joint Venture, was set up to deepen domestic gas use in line with the Federal Government's drive to put more of Nigeria's own gas to work at home.
Under the agreement, NGML sources and supplies the natural gas and provides the regulatory and institutional backing of the NNPC group. Gasland Horizon finances, builds and operates the delivery infrastructure, including pipelines, spur lines, and pressure regulation and metering stations. Both companies are named parties on every Gas Sales and Purchase Agreement signed with a customer, so each customer's supply is anchored by the national gas marketing company rather than by a single private operator.
The venture is aimed at manufacturers, independent power plants, captive power operators, industrial parks and estate developers that currently run on diesel and heavy fuel oil. For those businesses, moving to piped natural gas typically cuts fuel costs by 40 to 55 percent, takes away the cost and risk of tanker deliveries, and provides supply that is metered and billed on what is actually used.
Development is being sequenced by verified customer demand. The flagship area is Awka, the Anambra State capital, where committed industrial demand of about 2.85 MMSCFD has already been documented across anchor customers. Other development areas include the Anambra Mixed Use Industrial City (AMIC), the Oghara-Sapele corridor and Ibusa in Delta State, and Ogidigben, a future development area tied to the planned Ogidigben Gas Industrial Park.
"For too long, industry in our region has carried the cost of diesel. This joint venture with NNPC Gas Marketing lets us bring cleaner, cheaper gas straight to the factory gate, and it lets us build that infrastructure against real, verified demand rather than guesswork. Our message to any business still running on diesel is simple. Complete our Energy Data Form and let us show you what you could save."
Engr. Sadiq Okocha, Managing Director, Gasland Horizon Company Limited
Prospective customers are invited to complete the company's Energy Data Form, a short questionnaire that lets the Gasland Horizon commercial and technical teams prepare a site-specific savings assessment at no cost and with no obligation.
